Donor Advising

I work with a small number of individual donors and families who are navigating questions of values, responsibility, and influence in their philanthropy and want to use their wealth for trust-based giving to locally led solutions to our current crises.

This work is not investment management or grant administration.
It is advising focused on clarity, alignment, and navigating complexity—particularly in moments where there are no simple answers.

What This Looks Like

Strategic Clarity

When giving options feel overwhelming, we work together to identify what matters most and how to align your giving with your values.

Power-Shifting Philanthropy
Moving from transactional to transformational giving—examining how power dynamics show up in funding relationships and how to shift them.

Trust-Based Giving

Supporting locally led, community-driven solutions rather than imposing external agendas.

Family Coordination

Navigating different generations, values, and approaches to giving within family philanthropy.

Connection to Effective Organizations

Leveraging deep networks across climate, human rights, social justice, and conservation sectors to connect you with community-led organizations doing transformational work.

My Approach

This work is shaped by:

>Over 25 years working alongside donors, foundations, and community partners
>Deep understanding of how stress and overwhelm affect philanthropic decision-making
>Experience supporting movement-led, trust-based grantmaking
>Advisory roles with funder networks
>Commitment to equity-driven, partner-centered philanthropic practice

Engagements begin with a conversation to ensure a fit for both.
